He so convinced a point-of-sale payment company. VeriFone and had an chance to run into Nick Epperson and convinced him as adviser. Ajay so presented his Vayusa to Tom’s three general spouses at SeePoint Ventures and explained them that Vayusa needs to raise $ 2 million in the first twelvemonth to back up the beta development and execution. and to engage senior direction. Vayusa would so necessitate another $ 5 million in support to make a positive cash-flow place in 3rd twelvemonth. The spouses were convinced to put. By January of 2002. To Clone or not to Clone essays

To Clone or not to Clone essays On February 24, 1997, the whole world was shocked by the news that Scottish scientists had successfully cloned a sheep. Dolly an artificially cloned mammal was born a star. After the shock, that cloning was not only a possibility but a reality, wore off the out cry against human cloning began. Physicians, scientists, politicians and church leaders and many more have been trying to ban the cloning of humans ever since. Is cloning something to be afraid of? I do not believe it is. I believe that cloning will become a tool of science that will, in time, bring many benefits to humankind. The Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia describes a clone as "an organism by an asexual (nonsexual) reproductive process"(clone 1). This definition means that we already have many clones on the earth today. The Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia also states that "the organisms known as prokaryotes (the bacteria and cyanobacteria), a number of other simple organisms, such as most protozoan, many other algae, and some yeasts, also reproduce primarily by cloning, as do certain higher organisms like the dandelion or aspen tree"(clone 1). The Biology Textbook Concepts and Connections describes a clone as "a single organism that is genetically identical to another"(G-5). With this definition we can come to the conclusion that identical twins are also clones. Cloning then is not a new idea but one that has been around since the beginning of time. Embryo Splitting or Blastomere Separation Embryo splitting as Gregory Pence, a medical ethicist, writes is when "an embryo that has already been formed by sexual reproduction is split into two identical halves"(Flesh My Flesh: intro). The National Bioethics Advisory Committee calls this process blasotmere separation and explains that "each cell, called a blastomere, is able to produce a new individual organism"(15). See Appendix A figure one. Pence also writes that embryo splitting is "a process that has ...

HIPPA - Essay Example Reading current newsletters and journals would be pivotal since it provides update information on the new trends. The research would also encompass investigating how various related companies or organizations employ the HIPAA rules and regulations (Luxton, Kayl & Mishkind, 2012). While at this, I will be keen on the strengths and weaknesses of these organizations to ensure that the new practice redress any errors. Besides, personnel in the organization must also be interviewed to know their perceptions or attitudes towards the new policy (Luxton, Kayl & Mishkind, 2012). I would also study how the organization has attempted to comply with the HIPAA. All these will provide a good head start. I will be able to strategize a plan for the application of the HIPAA. Also, in order to ensure compliance, I would advise the physician about the security standards of HIPAA. They demand that they have the obligation of securing the patient electronic medical information (Luxton, Kayl & Mishkind, 2012). It should be done by using a series of procedures and mechanisms that aim at restoring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the information. That is to say, that the physician is accountable of the medical information about the patient. In a case of any irregularity, the physician will be held responsible (Luxton, Kayl & Mishkind, 2012). The new medical practice location should be in a place enough security that will provide ample protection for both the electronic media and other documents. The information here is the one that is collected, maintained, used and transmitted by the physician (Luxton, Kayl & Mishkind, 2012). The general practitioner must know that the more discrete the new practice is regarding the medical information of pa tients, the more trustworthy it will become. HIPAA controls the manner in which a physician can use and disclose the health

Product or brand success - Essay Example In this case, exiting investments can be accelerated, eliminated or de-prioritized. Again, the resources within the business can be allocated or re-allocated to active investments. Normally, portfolio decision approach is characterized by changing and unforeseen information, vibrant opportunities, various objectives and strategic considerations among many others. Also, a variety of decision makers and locations are considered. In determining product success, portfolio management incorporates or ignores a number of decision making approaches in the business. These include periodic evaluations of the all portfolio investments, making of decisions with regard to individual projects on a continuous basis (Product Success 7). Similarly, there is development of new product process characterized by a complete resource distribution decisions. Apart from decision making and resource distribution, new product portfolio control deals with future opportunities and events. However, there is a lot of information needed to make the best out of investments. First, there is need to understand that product portfolio control focuses on future chances and events. Therefore, most of the information needs to make investments selection decision process at its best. Secondly, the decision environment is a very vibrant one. The status and opportunities for investment in portfolio are continuously changing with the introduction of new information. Thirdly, projects in portfolio are at various stages of completion, although all the projects are competing for resources so that comparisons are made. Finally, resources to be distributed across the projects are restricted. A verdict to finance one project can mean that resources are not accessed by another and resource sharing between projects is not completely seamless. There are four major goals in portfolio management that leads to product or brand success. Actually, the goal that an individual wishes to focus on mainly is the one that will eventually determine the choice of portfolio approaches. These objectives include: Value exploitation Balance Strategic course Right number of investments With regard to value maximization, the main objective is to distribute resources with an intention of maximizing portfolio value. This means that the projects are selected so that the sum of values are maximize that are related to active projects. On the other hand, balance deals mainly with the development of balanced approach to realize the desired balance. For instance, the relevant balance in terms of permanent short term projects versus long term projects must be attained. Strategic direction as part of t he main objectives ensures that apart from all the other factors, the ultimate project portfolio truly gives a reflection of business approach. This should mean that the breakdown of using funds across markets, projects among other investments is closely related to business strategy. In relation to the right number of projects, most organizations have several continuing projects for the limited resources that are available. Therefore, an overriding objective is to make sure that a balance is reached between resources needed for the main projects and resources that are available. Product or brand failure In contrary to product success, product or brand failure means that the product in the market cannot meet the customer needs in the market (Hlavacek, Maxwell, and Williams 33). Marketers understand that they are supposed to maintain a steady

Business 6 - Essay Example In this social orientation, people are more self-focused and tend to put their interest before those of a group. On the other hand, China practices collectivism. This is whereby the group’s interests come before individuals’ interests. Power orientation categorizes cultures into power respect and power tolerant societies. Power respect societies respect the chain of command and accept power based on position in an organization or in the society. Authority is not usually questioned. This orientation is common in China. Power tolerant societies question authority and do not necessarily buy what authority says as seen in the United States of America. The third category of Hostede’s classification is uncertainty orientation, which focuses on people’s feelings toward vague or uncertain situations. This categorizes cultures into uncertainty acceptance and uncertainty avoidance. The United States tends to lean more on uncertainty acceptance because her cultures are undisturbed by change. Chinese cultural set ups, on the other hand, tend to embrace uncertainty avoidance, which exhibits rigid systems based on rules (Ajami, Cool, Goddard, & Khambata, 2006). China and the United States are among the leading economies in the world. However, the socio-cultural aspects of the two economies greatly differ. Chinese cultures tend to avoid uncertainty, favor power distance and are usually adapted to long-term feminism and collectivism orientations (Smith, Dugan, & Trompenaars, 1996). On the other hand, Americans are more short-term-oriented and tend to favor individualism and masculinity. They are also not bothered by uncertainty and are more democratic (Fu & Yukl, 2000). In this regard, Americans and Chinese seem to differ in almost all aspects of their cultures. Culture has a major influence on business both at domestic and international levels. Cateora and Graham (1999) observed that

Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986

Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 BANDARI RAMESH Introduction Many of the countries are believed children are big resources of their country in the context of well being and development. According to the eminent person Herbert Hoover, 31st president of United States said that â€Å"children are our most valuable resources†. Therefore, government of the each country start many programs and laws for protecting children from various conditions. I would like to explore the topic about â€Å"Child labour (prohibition and regulation) act† in the year of 1986. Along with why government look into this act and provisions, what are the significant impacts of child labour by this act? These would be explained in the following paragraphs. First and foremost, what are the reasons behind causes of child labour, Child labour is socio-economic phenomenon. This phenomenon is trapped in vicious circle by poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, demographic expansion, deep social prejudices and above all the government interest are commonly consider as the most prominent causative factors for large scale employment children. It has been officially started that â€Å"child labour no longer of economic exploitation but it necessitated by economic necessity of the parents and many cases that of the chid himself†. Moreover, there are several causes which have failed to check out child labour. Particularly in India the causes of failure are poverty, low wage of the adult, unemployment, migration to urban areas, large families, lack of subsistence income and children ignorance by parents these are incentives to the children comprises in the activities. In order to tackle this problem government has initiated some acts before enacted this act that are Merchant Shipping Act, 1951 Mines Act, 1952 Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961 Beedi and Cigar Workers Act, 1966 Due to improper implementation of existing acts and the lack media coverage these acts sufficiently not benefited to children. That is why; government has taken step to reduce child labour in the field of formal and informal sector. At that time act was come out that is child labour (prohibition and regulation) in the year 1986. In addition, Indian constitution provides many provisions to the child, prohibited child labour and it also mention the rights of the child. They are, Article 23: prohibition of employment children from factories Article 39: certain principles of policy to be followed by state that are referring to the secure of children that the health and strength of workers, men and women and the tender age of age children are not abused and that citizens are not forced by economic necessity to enter evacuation and unsuited their age and strength. Article 45: provision for early childhood care and education to the children below the age of six years. Article 21-A: right education the state shall provide free and compulsory education to all children age of six to 14 year. Even though, children were exploited by the factories and small scale industries. Therefore, the government of India enacted that was â€Å"child labour (protection and prohibition)† in the year 1986. This is an act prohibit the involvement of children in certain employments of hazardous places and to regulate the conditions of doing work for the children in certain other employments of non hazardous nature. Although there are little legislation which prohibit employment of children below 14 years and 15 years in certain specified employments but there is no specified procedure laid down in the legislation for deciding matters relating to employment, occupation are processes which necessities the prohibition children employment therein. At the same time there is no law for regulating the working condition of the children in the most of the employments where employment of children is not explicitly prohibited and the children are working exploitative conditions. Therefore the m ain intension of this act basically, which is ban the employment of the children below the age of 14 years in the specified occupation and processes to lay down for procedure introducing modification to the schedule of banned occupations or processes from time to time whenever need arises to regulate the condition of the children in employment where they are not prohibited works to prescribe the enhanced penalties employment for children if they are violation by the employers and management as per the child labour(prohibition and regulation) act 1986 the committee addressed that is â€Å"child† means a person who has not completed 14 years old the act prohibit employment of children in engaging 18 occupations like, transport at passengers and goods or mails by railway, work relating to the at construction and railway works, foundries, handloom and power loom industry, mines and plastic factories, domestic houses and automobile workshops and garages. Similarly, 65 process works for example, beedi making, carpet weaving, manufacture of matches and explosive or fireworks as well different industries, factories, coal mines, manufacture industry above these placed in part A, part B areas. Regarding these works children are prohibited by this act under the act, â€Å"the child labour technical advisory committee† constituted to advice the central government for the purpose of additions of occupations and processes in the schedule parts the act regulates the condition of all employment in all occupations and processes The main provisions are, no child shall be permitted to work in any establishment in excess of such number of hours, as may be prescribed for such class of establishment. The period of work each day shall be fixed no time to exceed three hours and that no child should not work more than 3 hours. Moreover, every child employed in an establishment shall be allowed in each week, a holiday or whole day, which day shall be specified by the occupier In a notice, every occupier shall maintain, in respect of children employed or permitted work in any establishment, register should be available for inspection by n inspector at all times during working hours or when work is being carried on there is tendency first, should be noted nm end date of birth of the every child employed to work, hours and periods of work of any such child on the intervals of rest to which is entitled, the nature of work such child, like that related information should be prescribed. In addition, the government made ga zette form for chid basis on health and safety on the children employed as well addressed minimum amenities should be provided by the owner at the working places. When the children are working in hazardous places it is found by someone he has right to complaint to the near police station. In addition, consequences of child labour, it is impact children physical and mental growth development as well health disease like, respiratory problem, skin disease, they will become disabled, bone fractured. These are lead to ill development. Interventions Education is very important part of the development. Lack of schooling and engaging family needs daily then, studies have found low enrolment and high children employment, schools are the platforms for the early intervention against child labour. Child labour can be controlled by economic development increasing awareness and making education affordable across all levels, and enforcement of all anti child labour laws. The government of India has taken certain initiative to control child labour started a program in 9 district that is â€Å" NATIONAL CHILD LABOUR PROJECT (NCLP)† under the schemes funds given to the district collector for running special school for child labour as well under this scheme provides formal and non-formal education, vocational education and spends 100 rupees per month. In one hand, how this act impacts on children life, primarily, based on this act government has expended this act in 2008. As well as, two acts were came that are â€Å"the juvenile justice (care and protection) in 2000, this act made prevent the bondage child labour as well if any one procure the children for domestic and industry works those persons punished by regarding this act. In the year of 2009, government has made act for education to the child that is â€Å"Right to education (RTA)† by this act free and compulsory education to all children between six to fourteen years. According to this act government has addressed that 25 percent of seats should be allocate for the disadvantages people. Moreover, between the 1981 to 1991 national sample survey organization conducted 43rd round of surveys it’s convey that the estimates the number of children was to the tune of 17.30 millions. As per the 1991 census, revealed that the number of working children in India was 1 1.28 million. This Number gradually decreasing in the following years. Because implementation of labour act by the legislation. The 1998 national census of India estimated the total number of child labour to be at 12.6 million out of total 250 million of child population. This count was reduced to 5 million in the year 2009. The 2011 national census of India found that the national number of child labour , aged five to fourteen to be 4.30 million out of the total 260 child population. By this enumerate we have observed child labour was gradually reducing due to child labour acts as well another government schemes. For example, in the â€Å"domestic households† before implementation of act the children are working in restaurant and as a domestic labour more than 20 million than when the government of expanded the child labour prohibition and regulation act and banned the children from domestic works as result of, as per the 2011 census, less than 0.1 million children are engaged as a child l abours. In addition, effect of this child labour act 1986, influence on children education and health as well as human development these all are contributed to increasing Indian economy and human development index. This act has impacted on education of children as well it is lead to improve aggregate literacy rate by in the year 1981 total average literacy rate is around 44 percent. This was increased to 52.3percent in the year of 1991, as per the 2011 this literacy rate was increased to 74 percent we observed contribution of provision of act stop to children in work places and push them in to schooling as well according to the 2011 census, children are engaging a fewer in the factories and industry as a result, child death rates were gradually decreased. On the other hand, loopholes and weakness in the child labour (prohibition and regulation) act 1986, while prohibiting bonded child labours from hazardous industries also allow it to thrive in other forms. A child working in a factory consider hazardous and is not to allowed. But if the child is a part of family labour, he is allowed to work. Hence the act 1986 has a large scope of exploitation of children. If they could be brings under the family-child labour phenomena. Eventually, poverty is one of the important factors of raising child labour. Hence enforcement alone cannot help solve it. So the government has been laying lot of emphasis rehabilitation of these children and should be improving economic condition of their families. In India many NGO’s working for eradicate child labour like, CARE and CHILD ROGHT TO YOU, government need to boosting these NGO’s, similarly, government need to enforcing right to education in the tribal areas. Moreover, government has to be expanded NCLP schemes to maximized districts. Government should be takes a fore step to domestic child labour and extract laws from other countries and implement in India. As well, Supreme Court shall takes significant steps whether punishment or control for exploitation of articles 23, 24 and 21A. Individually who are educated they should be provide awareness to ST’s, SC’s and below poverty level people about important of child for our country development . Steven Spielberg :: essays research papers

I'm Steven Spielberg and I was born in Cincinnati on December 18, 1947, but I was mainly raised in New Jersey and Arizona. When I was 12 years old I used my dads 8mm camcorder and made a movie. I continued to make films with the camcorder for five more years until I went on a trip to Universal Studios. I was 17 years old and I broke away from the main tourist group to see the sound stages. I bumped into the head of Universal's editorial department, Chuck Silvers. We talked for about an hour and he wanted to see some of my 8mm films. When I showed them to him he said they were good but he could only wish me luck. So the next day I put on a suit and borrowed my fathers suitcase and walked in the front gate of Universal Studio's like I did it every day. One reason I got away with this is because the guard thought I was the owners son. I bought some plastic name tags at a camera store and I found an empty office. Then I put my name in the building directory. Everyday that summer I hung out with directors, writers, and editors. After talking to all of these movie makers I found out that nobody really liked my movies. The next fall I asked some of the executives at Universal how I can get my films noticed. They said I should put my films on 16 or 35mm film. So I did. I made a 20 minute movie about a boy and a girl hitch-hiking from the dessert to the Pacific. The day after it was shown at Universal, Sidney Sheinberg, the head of Universal's T.V. production department, gave me a seven year contract to work on T.V. series. The first few years of the contract were fun, but after a while I didn't want to direct T.V. shows. In 1971 I got a chance to make my first real movie. It was Called Duel and it was about a salesman who was harassed by a truck driver. Even though the movie didn't make much money and wasn't popular, it was my first movie and I had a lot of fun. During the next 10 years I directed 4 of the top 10 movies ever made, including Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and E.T. which is number one. E.T.- The Extra Terrestrial made $720 million dollars worldwide in the theaters and over a billion dollars total with video sales. Some other movies I directed were, Indiana Jones and the

In the third stanza his awareness of the real world pulls him back from the imagined world of drink-joy that he was in. He continues to sit in darkness in the fifth stanza, which makes the man rely on his, other senses. He speaks of the nightingale singing of summer, and the progression of the seasons. He might have chosen spring to summer to show a new beginning rather then fall to winter, which would incur death and decay. He associates dance with song, which together produce pleasure or otherwise noted in this poem as â€Å"mirth†. During this stanza he is in his imaginary world. In the third stanza his awareness of the real world pulls him back from the imagined world of drink-joy that he was in. He feels that beauty cannot keep its lustrous tone without his world of vintage. In the fourth stanza he cries out â€Å"Away! Away! For I will fly to thee.† (Pg. 606) Showing that he has returned to his fantasy but also stating that he is rejecting the wine and he is going to use â€Å"the viewless wings of Poesy† (Pg. 606) to join this fantasy bird. He compares this experience to that of dullness. This stanza closes with the man in complete darkness yet he is unhappy nor is he infatuated with the situation. He continues to sit in darkness in the fifth stanza, which makes the man rely on his, other senses. He speaks of the nightingale singing of summer, and the progression of the seasons. He might have chosen spring to summer to show a new beginning rather then fall to winter, which would incur death and decay. Yet in stanza six the man begins to distance himself from the nightingale and yearns for death instead which he imagines only as joyful, pain-free, a...

Personal Manifesto Essays

Personal Manifesto Essays Personal Manifesto Essay Personal Manifesto Essay I believe that everything began when God created it. God created the Heavens, Earth, and everything in it. There was nothing before creation. Genesis 1:1-31 and 2:1 give an account of the entire creation story and how the world came to be. On the other hand, I believe that the earth as we know it today will end with the rapture of the Christians to Heaven and with the battle of Armageddon that will destroy the earth, as we know it. However, I also believe that the there is no actual end. There is an eternity for all people, but each individual chooses their own eternity, Heaven or Hell. There is a God. God is the creator of the earth, our Heavenly Father, the ruler over the entire universe, and many more things. He is the father to the fatherless, He is love, and He is the Almighty. In Genesis 1:26-31, God says, â€Å"Let us make man in our image, in our likeness † I believe that we are somewhat like God because of what we can take from this verse. Man’s moral nature is sin. In the beginning, we were all created perfect, without any sin. However, while Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, they sinned against God because of the influence of Satan (Genesis 3:1-24). After that moment of the first sin, all of humankind was born with sin being their moral nature. I believe that God controls the course of events in the universe. God is the creator and ruler over the entire universe. He knows everything that is going to happen even before it happens. He controls the clouds, the waves, the wind, and everything in between. I believe that each person decides what happens to him or her after death. The individual must make the choice themselves in order to decide where they will spend eternity, either with God in Heaven or in the fiery pits of Hell with Satan. I believe that there is not truly a death. We die on earth and that ends our life here but I believe that each person lives for eternity; the choice is where it will be. The way that I personally distinguish between good and evil is through the Bible. God gave us the Bible to learn from and to help us in our daily lives. Each story has a purpose to help us in life and to help us learn good from evil and right from wrong from the different stories and experiences of the people in the Bible. The Bible is like our guide to life, it is a true gift from God and it was given to us for that reason exactly (I Peter 1:19-21). The Bible is exactly why I believe that my worldview is correct. Again, the Bible is the words from God in order for us to learn from it and to know the truth. In John 7:15-18, Jesus is speaking to the Jews saying,† my teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. Of anyone chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own But he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. † This verse makes it very clear to us that the words of Jesus in the Bible are nothing but the truth because they are the words of God himself. I make my ethical decisions based on the Bible and what I have learned to be right and wrong based on the Bible and from the people around me. The truths of the Bible and from God help me to know how I should act and the way my life should be different from someone that does not know the truths or live their life for God. My beliefs most defiantly affect my daily life in that I act different, I know right from wrong, and I have a purpose and meaning for my life to live it for God and to be different to show others that they to need God in their life and to know the truths.

Campaign posters made of a non recyclable materials Thesis

Campaign posters made of a non recyclable materials - Thesis Example Surely, all that is written in campaign posters would sum up to the different plans of each candidate to reach community improvement. However, before an improved community that would be characterized by peace, economic stability, and social equality, one needs to deal with the physiological needs of one’s people first such as easy and equal access to food, a healthy body, & favorable morals and education. All these will only be achieved if we learn to nurture Mother Nature who gives us fresh air to breathe, fresh crops to fill our stomach, and also the right sense of responsibility towards our environment (Recycling: A Component of Strong Community Development, n.d.). With this said, campaign posters made of non-recyclable materials pose a big problem such as the increase in natural disasters caused by the wastage of natural resources. Instilling in each citizen their responsibility in preserving the earth would develop an attitude where everyone realizes what they can do not only to help themselves but also their community. The Purpose,Scope and Context of Interprofessional Collaboration - Essay Example   This paper is a personal learning and reflection of this health service provider about interprofessional education, collaboration and working while working with teammates. This interprofessional collaboration is happening among professionals, organizations, service users, carers and communities. The association of health providers work over critical matters on education, health and social care to deliver the necessary quality services to improve peoples’ quality of lives and for healthier communities. Among the many concerns they dealt are issues on nutrition, public health, policies, medical standards, medication of all illnesses or on the need to strategize development to better social services in complementation of health responses to communities. Consideration of the nature of communication within health & social care teams.   Communication is fundamental interaction and in nurturing understanding between the management, health providers, and with the patients. Peopl e who are seeking medical attention came from varied experiences, places, and bear different kinds of illnesses and thus, it is important that all of these are communicated so that the contexts, causes and surrounding circumstances of a case can be understood. From this study it is clear that appropriate medical remedies can only be provided when health cases are clear from all vantages. Communication also strengthens positive relation with co-workers and with management, especially in managing changes and health reform program . In fact, people will only come to understand hospital’s goals and programs by imparting and receiving communication. Moreover, work relations can only be understood through communication. This can be done either formally and informally; verbal or written; recited or in a journal; online or via telephone; by facial expression or by symbol; and by raising a picture or by simple touch. It’s aimed at bridging gaps, resolving issues, bringing toget her all partners for a meeting, and drawing all stakeholders to specific goals or in delving on issues though evaluations and monitoring. Sometimes communications bring along with it some misunderstanding because human beings, as social persons, exchange ideas in foreign language, in a jargon, in emotional distress, or in cultural differences.Â
